On Friday night we ran the Light up the Night 5K, which turned out to be a very small race because it rained for about an hour beforehand. The race didn’t start until about 8:30 p.m. as the whole point was for it to be dark, and with summer here it doesn’t get dark until that late. There were a few cops helping out and not too much traffic, so overall it felt safe, and we wore our white.
It was un-timed and I didn’t wear my Garmin, so we were blissfully unaware of our time. I felt pretty good but not that I took it too easily. As we crossed the finish line, the song that happened to be playing was the Chariots of Fire theme song. It was pretty neat!
There were hot dogs and such available afterward, but my stomach didn’t want it. Instead I opted for a Moolatte from Dairy Queen on the way home. Yum!
